Guest writer alert! It’s not your usual writer today. Your usual Well of Hearts writer has been busy recently, juggling work, organising women's prayer meetings, attending Bible study, dealing with the school closing early because of the heatwave or not opening at all, going to the endless list of end of year school events and is now battling through the school summer holiday. Quite frankly she is tired and decided that she needed a well deserved break, sipping mocktails on date nights out with her husband, watching sports, winning the family’s Netflix games championship and finally doing the friends meet ups that were planned months in advance. Yes she really told me all this when she did the handover email! She’s got it all planned out!

So she put out a call for a guest writer, I answered and the rest is history. I feel writing in this Christian blog space will be a good fit for me because I know God and I know the scriptures. My name is Helel, I have other nicknames given to me throughout the years but I write using my given name because well that’s my actual name! So hi 👋, I’m Helel and I’m your guest writer for this blog post. 

When I was asked to write a post, I thought long and hard about what to write because I don’t want to mess up my first post on this blog. After all, most of you readers of this blog say that you know God, say you know what is sin and what it isn’t and say that you know what it takes to live a life that pleases God. So based on that, I think you would spot straight away if someone came along and started saying (or in my case writing) things that aren’t from God. All this made me think about what I would do if I was Satan and I was around Christians. 

If I was Satan, I would need to know everything about you, your strengths, weaknesses, your triggers, what turns you on, what turns you off, what you hate and what tempts you. I wouldn’t be able to read your mind, so I’d assign monitoring and familiar spirits to you and your life. They wouldn’t look like the ghosts you see in the film, they would look normal because they’d use a human body as a host. So they would look like the random new inquisitive “friend” you made, the family member that needs to know everything about your life or the really nosy co-worker.

If I was Satan, I would make sin look fun and righteousness look boring. I’d make you think those surrendered Christians are really dull, only leave their house to go to church and work and they never have fun.

If I was Satan, I would see your need to be loved. So I would make you seek comfort purely from that guy or woman who only texts you late at night when they are bored or drunk.

If I was Satan, I would see your burning desire to belong to a group and I’d make you idolise your questionable but charismatic church leader over God. So, your allegiance would be to the church leader and your fellow group of church members, but only the ones who also idolise the church leader. You would place them higher than your allegiance to God and higher than righting the wrongs of the church leaders and ultimately glorifying God.

If I was Satan, I would see your dream to be a loving mother and I would whisper in your ear that you don't need to be to raise your kids with their dad in the house, with him showing your kids a loving committed relationship to you. Allowing them to grow up in a home with a loving married mother and father, the way God intended. I’d make you believe the lie that “as long as I have my kids and my baby daddy gives me what I need... the money and some bedroom benefits when he comes over, then I don't need to be his one and only woman”.

If I was Satan, I would see God's desire for you, from before you were even born, to be a present dad who lives in the family home. I would then make sure that my demonic familiar spirits, who are assigned to your ancestors and living family members because of their unrepentant sinful actions, continue to pollute your bloodline. So growing up you would only be surrounded by family members who are deadbeat men, violent men, men who are serial cheaters, drug addicts, drug dealers, gang members and abusers, who themselves don't know how to be the loving present father and faithful husband. Therefore you never learn how to be one.

If I was Satan, I would make sure you are so insecure that you would become a compulsive liar, lying to get what you want, no matter who you hurt and trample on in the process.

If I was Satan, I would hear your beautiful singing voice, on point dance moves and then I would send someone who I control, spiritually, to persuade you to make catchy songs that glorify promiscuous sex, self harm, drugs and murder.

If I was Satan, I would see your incredible acting and directing skills and make sure the plays, TV shows and films you act in or direct glorify the occult and other sinful things, whether you realise it or not. 

If I was Satan, I would make you love porn so much that it would affect your real life relationship because they will never compare to the “perfect” porn stars.

If I was Satan, I would see your need for peace and before you realise you can get that sense of peace from Jesus Christ, I would make you think that you can only get that peace through the “escapism” of taking drugs and binge drinking on alcohol.

If I was Satan, I would see your God given the gift of persuasion for evangelism and making good things happen. I would then pervert it by putting you in situations where you can instead choose to use that gift for manipulation, to gain things and use people for your own selfish desires.

If I was Satan, I would see your communications skills and put you in situations where my minions make you feel your voice is not worth listening to. This is because I’d tell them to ignore you or mock you, so you’d just stop speaking to most people.

If I was Satan, I would see your warm nature, who can be the light in darkness and I would surround you with mean cliques, who leave you out, as well as fake friends. So you eventually decide to isolate yourself from everyone, even the good friends and acquaintances.

If I was Satan, I would see your potential to make great influence in your community as an adult. So I would make it happen that everyone writes you off from childhood. You would show extreme bad behaviour from a young age because my demonic minions would tell you to smash that innocent person's window, harass the old woman who lived down the road or to destroy that thing. Of course you wouldn’t know it’s my little demon telling you to do all this, no you’d think it’s just your fun imaginary friend, who suddenly appeared when you were 5 years old.

If I was Satan, I would see your empathetic personality and I’d make sure my minions put you through so much trauma during your life that you developed a mental health illness. I’d then make you convince yourself that a combination of medication, therapy, your resilience AND God's almighty power can't help you lift the black cloud enough, to get you out of the house, so you can help other people also experiencing mental health illness and trauma. As a result these people will never hear you tell them that they aren't alone when they have Jesus.

If I was Satan, I would see your God given anointing, even if you don't. I would then keep you so distracted with the toxic job, the doomscrolling on social media, the binge watching of Netflix, Prime or Disney+, the latest church drama, the latest family drama and the latest friendship drama. Then to top it off I'd keep bringing back that toxic ex who you are trauma bonded to. With all these distractions you wouldn't have the time to even think about doing things for God the Father, in the name of Jesus Christ. 

If I was Satan, I would create divide and rule in society and make that leak into Christianity and the church. I would make people hate other people who had different coloured skin to them. I would make them racist. They would be so busy hating other races then they wouldn’t have time to hate me. I would then mix things up by making them think God told them it’s ok to hate other races and that a Christian country really means a white country. Even though the truth is Christianity reached the UK nearly 600 years after it was established is the Middle East and Africa. Those continents weren’t majority white back then or the last time I checked. It then took close to another 1000 years for Christianity to take hold in the Americas. 

I would make this lie about Christianity being linked to whiteness a long standing thing, to the point that black people in the UK and USA would have to start their own churches because they wouldn't be allowed in, or at the very least, they wouldn't be made to feel welcomed in the mainstream majority white member churches. I would engrain it so much into the culture, that in 2026 black people will still be made to not feel welcome in some of the majority white member churches in the UK. This would then make some people who hate racism then blame God for “creating” a racist religion. They would then reject this religion called Christianity and therefore reject Jesus Christ who is their only way to salvation.

If I was Satan, I would make you jealous of other people’s lives, marriages, children and achievements. I’d make you a serial gossip and I would make you never let go of unforgiveness because I know it is a sin for you to do these things. See Satan knows his Bible more than a lot of Christians!

If I was Satan,  I would see your yearning to believe in the one true God and I would send one of my many demonic spirits to convince you that you need to worship the universe, star signs, trees, rocks, your ancestors, sage, crystals, other gods or get spiritual answers from tarot cards and other forms of witchcraft. Now obviously I wouldn’t make it obvious that you are talking to a demonic spirit because you would run a mile! No, you would be thinking you are just talking to your lovely “spirit guide” or just talking to the cool woman from your spin class who tells you she’s not religious but “spiritual”. 

If I was Satan, then if the universe worshipping, crystals and sage didn’t fool you, then I would get one of my demon minions to tell you about a religion called Satanism. They would tell you not to be fooled or scared by the name, they just call it that but they don’t actually believe that Satan exists. They’d make you think that only the dumb devil worshippers believe in and worship Satan. The demonic spirit on your shoulder would reassure you that Satan isn’t real and Satanists don’t believe in anything. They just want to have fun and do whatever they want, even the fun “sinful” stuff. I’d remind you that doing fun “sinful” stuff is ok because sin doesn’t exist because God and Satan don’t exist. Now of course you won’t know it’s a demonic spirit talking to you, you’ll think it’s just your own brilliant thoughts leading you to read about Satanism. I’d then continue to convince a group of people, who belong to a group named after me, that I don’t exist, genius or what!

If I was Satan, I would make you believe that there is no point in marriage because it's only a piece of paper and “God knows your heart”. I’ll make you focus on the headache of the cost of a wedding and the stress of who to invite, over the Biblical covenant that God wants you to make with the person you love. I’ll make the idea of legally being with one person for the rest of your life so scary that you try to twist scriptures on marriage, or you just ignore those scriptures all together. 

If I was Satan, I would see the leadership skills that God has given you and I would pervert it so you instead have a love for controlling people and situations. I would then train you up so you know scripture just like me. (P.S. you wouldn’t have to actually believe scripture, just make sure you know it, so you can twist it if you need to). I would then put you in the church as a false prophet and a false idol. Your sole purpose would be to make sure Jesus' disciples are not taught about the true Jesus Christ and the true Christian way of living. Your job is to keep the church congregation luke-warm, divided and in constant drama within the church walls. Once you’re in I’ll even start bringing in some witches and warlocks, that carry the spirits of Jezebel, Leviathan and Beelzebub into the church, in order to cast their spells over the church to make sure members stay confused, in sin, rejecting surrendered righteous members and importantly to make sure that you don’t suddenly lose your mind as their leader and actually surrender to Christ!

If I was Satan, I would see your God given entrepreneurial spirit that God wants to use so you make a lot of money, in your own business. I would see God’s plan of you giving a chunk of the profits back to God’s kingdom, through helping small Christian charities and the homeless. Instead, I'll show you all the money you can make having a “business” selling drugs, scamming people or pimping out women and you get to keep it all!

If I was Satan, I would tell you that God likes to bring confusion and the part of the Bible where God says He isn’t the author of confusion has been misinterpreted. This would plant the seed that maybe God isn’t always true. See what I did there, I’m the liar who brings confusion but I’d make you doubt the wrong spiritual entity!

If I was Satan, I'd use anything and anyone to make sure you continuously sin, don’t repent, don’t change and don't surrender to Jesus Christ. When you truly surrender, the blood that Jesus shed for you on the cross, literally covers you. You won’t see the blood but Satan and his demons will see it in the spiritual realm and they can’t touch Jesus' blood so they can’t touch you. You would be, as they say, covered by the blood. I’d need to make sure that you don’t surrender to Jesus, so Jesus’ blood doesn’t cover you and then those spiritual doors stay wide open for my demons to have access to you, so I can have access to you. 

If this final plan works, you sinned all the time and didn’t repent, then when you die you will be separated from God. When you finally meet Jesus Christ and you will because everyone will, you will hear those dreaded words from Jesus “get away from me, I never knew you, you evil doer and worker of lawlessness” and then you will finally be all mine...

Well that’s what I would do anyway but what do I know, I’m just Helel and like I said before you wouldn’t fall for any of this because you say you know Jesus Christ. 

Oh, before I sign off this post some of you might be thinking "Helel" that name sounds unusual, well it is, it is my Hebrew name. You all will definitely know me by my Latin name which is Lucifer. Some annoying people call me Satan but I’m not going by a name given to me all because I was kicked out of Heaven! 

Anyway I’m sure either I or one of my minions will be back in touch with some of you soon. Until then please keep doing what you’re doing…
